What I learned at NEKLS HOP

Hands on technology was the name of the game at the NEKLS training center. Links to what we learned about are all here. Webjunction has a nifty tool for computer inventory, and also access to FREE online classes that can be completed at your own pace. You can even get Leep credit for them if you talk to Mickey at NEKLS. It was helpful to see how the audiobooks, music and more website works with MP3 players. The online databases have become quite user-friendly. The most popular ones are:

  1. Heritage Quest
  2. Literature Resource Center
  3. Custom Newspapers

We also saw a demonstration of Homework Kansas, and viewed some nice library websites that are blog-based.
